Today I took my last 5 mg of pred thus completing 5 weeks of a pred taper. I am feeling much better although I still tire easily. I'm not going to push things too hard yet. I don't want a relapse . But I hope that maybe I have finally come to an end of 6 weeks of one cold after another and, consequently, one flare up after another.

I am optimistic.

Hey there!

Glad to hear you've finished the Prednisone. Take it easy for a couple days and then let us know how you are feeling.

I read somewhere that Theophylin was coming back as a treatment for the asthma, and that is what helped me when I did not have it under control. Are you using a theophylin inhaler or treatment in your machine?

Take care and stay in touch!

I am awfully tired and sore these days. I also have been experiencing more muscle cramping. I don't know what's going on. It's not earth shaking or life threatening but is noticeable.

I just run out of energy quickly..and ,for me, fatigue is also a trigger for an asthma flare, which in turn makes me tired... which triggers an attack...which...oh well, you get the picture.   It seems to be a self perpetuating cycle .

Since my meds were recently changed I'll ask the pulmonologist when I go in for a followup on April 3. This Zyflo CR may not be the answer for me. We'll know more after the lab tests.

Personally, I find that it's been a rough winter. Come on June!!

Be well,

Tom

Hey Tom,

congrats for surviving the prednisone. It has a long list of side effects. Have you had blood work checking stuff like your calcium and vitamin D levels? Especially since you have this issue in the winter time when your vitamin D is low because of the lack of sunlight. Low levels of these vitamins can also cause the muscle cramping. You should be taking a good multi vitamin anyway.

Stay in touch and keep us up to date about your condition.

Hey Tom,

We haven't heard from you in a while. How are you doing? Did you find something that worked for you? Hopefully you are doing well and feeling great!

Take care and let us know!

I am doing well. My asthma is under control as long as I don't run into a trigger or exert myself too much. At least all the URI's are done.

I wish I had more stamina but other than that I am well...or what passes for it these days. I haven't posted in awhile because I didn't want to monopolize the site. I hope you are also doing well.
