Think what you eat has nothing to do with your battle with Asthma? Think Again. Nutrition Expert Heather Reese explains. Most experts agree that there is very little evidence supporting a direct link between food and asthma. However, there is a lot of evidence showing that a well-balanced diet contr...

It Does Matter: Asthma and weight

Growing up with asthma and trying to maintain a healthy weight has been a true battle. Any amount of extra pounds worsens my feeling of "breathlessness" x 10. I feel much better when I am at a weight where my clothes are not snug and I feel comfortable and confident. I want to look nice and wear things other than "big girl clothes" so I can breathe. I am right now having a battle asI have struggld for three days to get this exacerbation under control, feeling like a big fat blimp. I wish it were not an issue. I am 5'3" and am at a heavy weight than ever 175lds than ever before, so I know I am obese for my size and build. I do have a large chest so I cary extra pounds there to. My goal is to be around 140 -150 where I am comfortable smaller would be better, I am just being realistic. I work out at the gym and it would be so great if there were a proram for asthmatics that included diet and exercise training. With a 12 year old daughter and feeling prety bad for the past two days is a bit frightening as sometimes you have this feeling of what if I dont make it through another attack or episode of this. Pretty darn scary I think. A diet plan and an exercise plan that could work would be wonderful. I am very active and and I do not let the asthma control my life. however at this time I feel as I am now getting older I do not want to let it continue to try. With wisdom and direction and faith to know I can do anything it won't. God wants us all to be smart and to learn as we go and be treated as needed by htose he has given the wisdom to, for teaching those of us who need to know.
