I may have occupational asthma
MLM
Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 09:14 PMA year ago, an event at work changed my life. It was just today, however, that my health-care provider heard my voice after an attack at work, and said, gee, I might have asthma. When I come in contact with an allergen or irritant that sets me off, my voice leaves, it is hard for me to breathe, and it physically drains me. Any suggestions?

Ongoing Life Restrictions due to Occupational Asthma
L. Furlong
Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 10:03 PMI have had asthma symptoms for 7 1/2 years after workplace exposure to mold. I continue to have issues with effective treatment and have given away my dog after developing so many sensitivities to everything. I don't wear perfume or hairspray any longer and cannot be around anyone who does. I don't visit family because things in thier houses trigger an attack. I've had to quit 2 other jobs since leaving the place where I aquired the breathing problems, due to my inability to breath. I'm tired and frustrated. When I explain to physicians that this all started after workplace exposure to copious amounts of mold, they don't believe me.
Thanks for communicating and posting. Maybe together we can all learn something and help build awareness.
