help for allergy induced asthma

By outdoorgirl Thursday, August 02, 2007

I developed allergy induced asthma in 1997 after an anapylaxis reaction to an antibiotic. Since then, here are some things that have made my life easier:

-when I am having asthma problems, I cut out dairy.  Dairy increases mucus and I feel I am drowning!  Cheese is fine, but I cut out icecream on those days.   I always use soymilk anyway.

-I check www.aaaai.org and search pollen counts, and now have them emailed to me.  I only open them when I am having problems.  I noticed from that....it's the mold pollen that I have the asthma problems.  Whenever the mold claudosporium is high, I am wheezing.  I did a search on claudosporium and found it is know for causing pulmonary problems.  Atleast if I am outside on those days, I know the cause.

-I bought an airpurifier (to remove the air mold) ..but it didn't help.  Later a friend talked me into borrowing her more expensive one, finally I tried it, and it really works, so I bought my own. (website for it was www.shaklee.net/safeshopper)

-last of all, a lot of my problems seem to be triggered by perfumes, and cleaning products with strong fumes.  I now use natural nontoxic products, and am breathing easier as well.

Hope this benefits someone!
