Hi, I am 28 years old and for about 10 years off and on I have been a "social smoker" with asthma, partaking in the discusting habit maybe once a month when I've had a few drinks. Everyone always told me that I was crazy to smoke with asthma, but I never stopped to think about what I was actually doing to my lungs. Suddenly, I just woke up one day and said to myself, I don't EVER want to smoke again! A couple of weeks ago when I called for a refill of my Advair and my doctor said that he was reluctant to refill it because I have also been on this med for about 10 years. He wants me to get a chest x-ray. I started to freak out because I didn't want my doctor to find out that I had been smoking all of this time. Reading this gave me reassurance that although I have been a bad girl and have been a light smoker for so many years, I haven't totally ruined my lungs. And you're telling me that when I am 80 years old I won't have to walk around with tubes in my nose due to my poor choices in my more carefree years. This is just the article I need to never smoke again. Thank you!
