I have been taking Advair for about 10 years now, and the pharmacists don't know when a generic will be out and availbale.  It is very important to me as I have been unemployed for more than a year now and paying for my own medical insurance to the state of Minnesota (over $500.00 per month).  I hope it comes out very soon, as I take the 500/50 dose.  It really works for me as I have not been hospitalized in over 12 years now.

Since it costs a lot more to make a dry powdered inhaler like Advair as opposed to HFA inhalers, some experts believe it might be a long while they are available in the U.S.  Generic Advairs do exist, however, just not in the U.S.

It has been very good for me also and I have been taking it about 8yrs and am waiting for the generic which should have come out last year but no.  Ask your doctor for a couple of samples.  They are available and it should help your finances for a month or two.  But, do not hold your breath, "if you can", for the generic.
