I just saw your post and had to comment.
I am wondering what a Vitamin D deficiency doesn't cause. I have Multiple Sclerosis...this vitamin deficiency is linked with that...with depression...and now asthma (I have all of the ailments listed above).
Last time I had blood work done I was found to be severely deficient in my Vitamin D. I am taking the mega doses of Vitamin D...but I am still using my inhaler. I know the Vitamn D is no cure but what exactly does it do when you are at the appropriate level? If you already have these ailments or conditions...will it make them better?
