Closing thoughts
Unfortunately, I am concerned that the current and future difficult economic times will have an effect on asthma health and medical care. As out of pocket expenses may rise for individuals, it is all the more important to be attentive to control our asthma - take controller medications regularly, minimize exposure to triggers, and avoid catching colds - as best we can. While medications may become more expensive for some, having to pay for urgent care or emergency room visits due to uncontrolled asthma could, unfortunately, easily offset those increased costs for those with already stretched and limited resources.
