Does Your Asthma Always Flare Up Around the Holidays?

By James Thompson, MD, Health Pro Wednesday, December 16, 2009
Here are 7 Reasons that may explain why:   1)    The holiday season usually brings more than good cheer when the outdoor temperature starts dropping and furnaces start blasting out hot, dry air. The drying effect of warm air on the lungs lower the threshold for causing asthma at...

What great ideas to help with allergies.

I wonder if winter brings other factors besides being indoors more.

Does diet have a role?  The holidays always brings more sweets, cakes, pies,

cookies............

All the things we avoid throughout the year.

We can have grandma's apple pie, lots of sugar???

October brings lots of candy everyone has it on their desk in a cute bowl

we have to eat it just to be polite.....That's my reason.....I wouldn't want to hurt anyones feelings.....plus what's one little piece of candy.......if only it were just

one piece for me!!!

Then Thanksgiving....................

Next is Christmas...................Thank God for New Years Resolutions

We finally start to take care of ourselves............

What would happen if we gave up all grains for 30 days?

No sugar, coffee, flour......no yeast  lots of fruits and veggies and lean meats

I bet we would feel better????

Since sugar causes inflamation, and grains turn to sugar.....no wonder we hurt.

It would be tough to follow this diet.  I'm still trying myself.  Are there thoes who

have tried and succeeded?

If so good job........ how did you do it?

Did you try antifungals too?

I imagine yeast doesn't help.......what makes bread rise?????

There must be a connection between sugar and pain, grains and pain?

I guess that's where excercise comes in..... the more we sweat the more toxins are removed from our bodies..............

I guess it boils down to taking that first step.

I'm going to go for a walk.  The next time I walk I'll go a little farther.......

I'm going to cut back on grains......I bet chocolate is a grain ouch.....What's chocolate without sugar anyway?

I'll keep you posted on my progress.......I like veggies.....but I love them with rice and rice is a grain too.......

Someone told me about Joe Mercola's website...........There is a diet that's really a

lifestyle change.

It's time to change......

If you always do what you've always done....You'll always get what you've always got.  What have i got to lose but the pain?  Who knows..bet I feel better too!

We are here for a reason......to take care of each other.  The doctors are doing their

part...so we must do our part.....

If we love people we must tell them the trueth...I don't know why some people have allergies....and some don't.  Besides heredity,  diet and lifestyle must be a factor.

My thought is build up the immune system so you have a fighting chance.

Our body is fearfully and wonderfully made.

Sometimes we need help to get back on track.

A doctor can help us to get back on our feet.  Every natural food we eat will get us that much closer to optimul health.

Don't forget to say thank you for the health you do have.  Help someone else.

You may just be the answer that they were looking for.

Don't forget to tell your Doctor thank you for all that they do for us.

As well as their staff.  It's hard sometimes to serve the public alot of people forget

to say thank you for the little things....We never know how much our words inspire

someone else.  What you say really does matter...We never know who just got a bad

report and could use a kind word.  If we are careful to say kind words we might just

help someone have a better day instead of a bitter day!!
