By Sloane Miller, Health Guide Wednesday, March 05, 2008

I have only been diagnosed with asthma since October 2006. However I know what you mean about the chest and back pain. I cough so hard that everything stays sore for a long time after a flare up. I haven't had back spasms due to asthma yet but it wouldn't surprise me if I did. Thanks for the info.

I was diagnosed with asthma 2 years ago. I usually don't use medications unless a flare up and it has been a while since I have had one. Yet recently I have had chest heaviness and middle back pain...mild. Constant. I figured it must be my asthmas because it is spring and everything is blooming. I take alternative med's. They give relief...but in a few hours mild symtoms are back...is that normal? It has only been a week. Does it take a while for the symtoms to be relieved?
