I think people need to be skeptical of any new drug that hits the market.  As with singulair, sometimes people (including doctors) buy into the hype of new research (positive and negative) and new drugs to easily.  I think that was and is part of the problem with Singulair. 

 

Still, after everything else has been tried, I think a med like Singulair should be trialed.  And, if a side effect occurs, immediately stopped. 

 

Singulair has worked miracles for some asthmatics, including myself, and I'd hate to see moms and dads taking their kids off of it based on this fear, especially when the alternative is a life of misery with allergies.  We both know what that's like.

Singulair gave me suicidal depression after a little under 2 weeks of taking it. I worked on it with a psychiatrist, and took me about 2 years to get over my depression. So much for trying to control my allergies. Singulair should be off the market. Such negligence. :(
