I've been hearing about the need for health care reform for at least the past couple of decades. And problems such as lack of insurance, insurance fraud and rising medical care prices have been around longer than that. Health care reform was the cornerstone of Bill Clinton's first presid...
The current system is ruled by insurance companies and drug companies. Whether the patient lives or dies means little to them unless it will affect their bottom line. Drug companies hope to keep a person strung out on their products for as long as possible. Insurance companies very often do better financially if a patient dies sooner rather than later because of the cost associated with prolonging his or her life.
Only recently have insurance companies, under public pressure, begun to encourage some preventative care.
