Hello Joshua,
Thanks for being so open about your experiences. It sounds as though you must be an extremely strong person to have survived everything you've gone through in your life. So far, this is the only study I know of that has established this connection between asthma and child abuse, but it will be interesting to see where they take it from here.
To your health,
Kathi
I am curious about how this opinion about Asthma and Child Abuse came to be.
I am a survivor of thirty two foster placements, five being Institutions. I was a sexually, psychologically, emotionally abused child. I was neglected and dismissed as a hopeless, unwanted foster child. I've always assumed my asthma was due to being a eight week preemie, born to a reckless teenager.
I have asthma and it is affected, mostly, by my reactions to how I read people poorly and get upset when I interpret it as a dig at me. I can be read like a book because of how I begin to wheeze at the hint of a dissagreement or difference of opinion. Personal interactions are not my strong point!
I thought your article to be very interesting. I'd certainly be a 'poster boy' for your opinion. I seem to meet the bill.
