By firehawk Saturday, November 03, 2007

hi my name is martin.

about 2 years agoi started having coughing fits they got worse over a few day ,they would me fall down and most of the time i was lucky because there was stuff behind me when it happened like a chair ,bed and so on but the last time that did it for me ,was i passed out and was gone for a while i stopped breathing where i was it was warm it was safe and it was a nice light blue colour, then i heard some one telling me to breath by name. which was interesting seeing that my wife was the only one in the room and she didnt know i was out.anyway so i started to breath and opened my eyes ,i told my wife what had happened and she went into panick mode.i told my daughter what had happened and she surjected useing a puffer which she happen to have so i used it and it helped right away.i saw my doctor but nothing realy happened .they sent me for heart test to see if it was my heart. it wasnt and i was given a good report on my heart it still works woot that alway a good thing to know .but i was still having breathing problems so over the course of 2 years i saw the doctor but didnt get any where .some of that was my fault. i final got a breathin test and it been 3 weeks and i have no answers just new puffers.

i got the flu on top of my asthma and i wasnt getting better so i went to the doctor again ,the test was in so i still dont know and she put me on pills to help with the flu .and that is where i am right now . a might frustrated

I don't know if that's ever happened to me. I've had nasty bouts of bronchitis before, where just getting out of bed or walking down a hallway had me breathing like I'd just run a mile. That was before I'd been diagnosed. I haven't ever passed out  before, though...

anything else happen to you?

Hi Martin,

Have you had a chance to see a doctor yet? What I am going to give you should not be taken instead of a doctor's advice, but it will give you the information you need to get the right treatment and manage your care. Used this information to help you with the questions you need to ask your doctor.

First, I would start by reading the overview about asthma located here. I can also tell you that asthma symptoms are not always asthma, as acid reflux can also give off asthma like symptoms, particularly with coughing and breathing difficulties. You can check your symptoms here and if you think you might be having some issues related to acid reflux, you can check that out here.

If you have seen your doctor and want to check out the medicines he has prescribed, you can look them up by name here.

If you want to know about the latest in asthma treatments and findings, you can read all about that in this section of the overview.

I hope you find this information helpful. Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing!
