Tired of taking my asthma medications!

I am so tired of taking asthma medications (Advair, Allegra, Xopenex, Flonase).  I particularly would like to stop the Advair.  I seem to have alot of side effects from all of the medications.  My favorite...the weight gain.   I have seen a Pulmonologist and currently see an Allergist.  They all keep feeding me asthma... Read moreChevron

Why don't they believe me?

Three weeks ago I was cleaning out my basement which had a lot of mold in it which I didn't know at the time..I began having breathing problems. I've had asthma for over 10 yrs now but was always mild. I live in Michigan and the weather has been very hot and very humid...which hasn't helped matters at all.. Do I really have asthma?

I was diagnosed with asthma following a severe case of pneumonia in 2006, but I wonder if that diagnosis is accurate.  I have shortness of breath; coughing all throughout the day and sometimes at night; sputum that ranges from clear to yellow; wheezing (mild to moderate); and, difficulty with general exertion.  I have no allergies... Read moreChevron

The scare of the century

One of my friends, Gavi, was missing for a while last night. I got a call from another friend, unable to help, which only made things worse for me. I went to bed around 11:30 and got up 10 minutes later, unable to sleep, but got back in bed 5 minutes after that, started crying my eyes out from the anxiety...and had an asthma attack a minute later... Read moreChevron

The difference between asthma and emphysema?

I have been diagnosed with emphysema. I am a non smoker, have never been. Which of the two diseases is worse, and will my emphysema become asthma? Thank you Alan
