Strong emotions are definitely a valid asthma trigger. All of us have stress at some times, but when stress levels get especially high, it can take a toll on us and trigger asthma symptoms. And of course, the hormonal changes that are common during menopause can intensify our emotional reactions to stress or life events.
Besides the article recommended by our other reader, you might check out our menopause site here at HealthCentral. I'm sure you can find some tips there on managing menopause. And if you can keep your menopause symptoms in check, you may find that your asthma symptoms are better controlled too.
Also, be sure you have and know how and when to use your rescue inhaler when asthma symptoms do crop up. If none of that helps you maintain control, you may need to discuss a change in asthma treatment with your doctor.

Hope this helps!
