Hello,

 

Yes, steroids can sometimes have a side effect causing you to gain weight. However, that is oral steroids, like prednisone. The amount of steroid in drugs like Advair is too small to have that effect. Alupent, which is a bronchodilator, does not have that side effect at all.

 

So, the answer to your question is no. If you are gaining weight, I would look at your eating habits and exercise routine first. Or possibly other medicines you may be taking. Some antidepressants, for example, may cause weight gain. Talk to your doctor to learn more about your individual condition.
