my grand son has asthmatic symptoms and family doctor has prescribed Atrovent inhaler, he is only a baby, one year old and the phymastist sp? seemed reluctant to fill prescription. Should we be concerned??

Atrovent is safe to use for peds and neonates and adults. Likewise, the dose for neonates and peds is the same for adults. Doctors prescribe it all the time where I work, and I've never noticed an adverse reaction. Atrovent is a very safe medicine for people of all ages.
In case you're curious, the best way of delivering this medication to your child is with a spacer as you can see here.
