I wish I had an easy answer for you, but I think the wise thing for you to do in this case is to call your physician and talk with him.  He is the only one who knows your entire medical picture and history, and he might have a viable solution for you, or have a suggestion of an alternative medicine if he surmises you are having a side effect to one of them.  Please don't be afraid to tell your doctor what your concerns are, as it is his job to hear your medical complaints -- that's what you pay him for.

Yes, I am also newly diagnosed with COPD (probably have had it for a few years now).  If you have not seen a pulmonary lung doctor; I would recommend having your family doctor refer you; he would be the one to ask.

My pulmonary doctor upd my Advair pump from 150 to 250 which just means less puffs, but it is stronger as well.  Seems to work great for me.  Used to be on Ventolin pump and also the Combivent pump; now I just use Advair.

I am also on Singulair every night for about 4 years now.  I don't plan on ever quitting Singulair.

Just take it one day at a time, it too will pass and taper off.

(the pollen season is now upon all of us-this time of year),

best of luck.
