My son is 4 and is a severe asthmatic. Our family has found that a allergy test (scratch test in his case) was very helpful. We have an allergist, pulmonolist(asthma doctor), peditrican, and a Ear Nose and Throat doctor. All of them have had something helpful to offer my son. However I found the peditrican to be the most unhelpful. She is a wonderful doctor but is a generalist in the field of asthma and allergy with only basic knowledge, and often misdiagnosed and/or gave insuffient medication. We made 4 emergency rooms visits before we finally recieved the asthma diagnosis from her. My opinion, stick with the specialists, the pulmonolist, allergist, and ENT. I am not an expert. I'm just a worried mom of a child with asthma.  I'm so sorry you and your daughter are forced to spend to much time indoors. We've been there and it's difinitely no way to live. My prayers are with you.
