Q: difficulty breathing on right side, difficult for deep breaths; had asthma before is this a relaps?

recently had a work injury ( almost 2 months ago) feel on right side, chest x ray taken in er, but all was clear. not sure if the two are related or my asthma is acting up, which is rare for me, considering buying an inhaler. last night, could not sleep on back, had to sit up in bed in order to breath and cant sleep on stomach, I have a cast on foot, has been windy in area since monday when the problem started. in 30's - thank you

Hi Rob,

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. If you have been diagnosed with asthma in the past, I suppose it's possible your symptoms could be related, but we can't possibly tell you for sure, as we can't examine you. I'm concerned that your previous injury may be at the root of this.

I would advise you to call your doctor and make an appointment to be evaluated. That's the only way to know for sure what is going on. And, if it is your asthma, the doctor can prescribe an effective treatment for you to take. Buying inhalers over the counter is rarely as effective as prescription asthma medicine.
