I also have a 3 year year old diagnosed with Asthma. It started off with everytime he had a virus or a cold and a cough he would get a wheeze. They gave him a inhaler to take whenever he had a bad cough and it got worse. Not so long ago he had a respitory arrest. Then decided to give him a preventor inhaler. I do think your doctor is correct as it sounds alot like my son and he just got worse and worse. Id suggest ask your doctor for a preventor. You never can be to safe or to sure. I wasnt sure and almost lost my son. Hope i was helpful =)
