Good question.  First of all it is a common fallacy that asthma goes away as you grow older.  Your lungs may become bigger and work better as you grow older, or perhaps you become better at avoiding your asthma triggers, but it never really goes away.  In that sense, asthma can be a very tricky disease.    That said, I really can't answer your question over the Internet.  You would be better off discussing this with your physician because he can see you, interview you, and knows your medical history better than we do. It does sound like it could possibly be asthma, but there's no way for us to know for sure.    Good luck!
