I have been suffering from chronic cough for ten years, my asthma doctor says my asthma condition is out of control but it seems that the medication "advair 250" is not working.  It seems coughing occurs after eating or drinking anything expecially water.  My cough usually becomes a chocking cough and as a result I can't breathe and usually I throw up.  It is only then I feel well again when my stomach is empty.

Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time. Vomiting isn't a typical sign of asthma, but severe coughing can trigger the gag reflex, so perhaps that is what's going on. Impossible for us to tell over the Internet.

However, I would strongly encourage you to consult with a pulmonologist, if you haven't already, to get a full evaluation of your airways and to figure out if your current treatment plan for you. It might be that a rescue inhaler is needed. Or something else entirely might be going on. You need more information.

So, think about consulting with a specialist, won't you?

Best,

Kathi
