Q: can one of your breast become very sore due to a chronic dry cough

I HAVE HAD A DRY CHRONIC COUGH FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND FOR THE LAST FEW WEEKS MY RIGHT BREAST HAS BEEN EXTREMELY SORE. I HAVE TROUBLE JUST LIFTIMG MY ARM UP. I SAW A DOCTOR A FEW WEEKS AGO AND WENT FOR A CHEST XRAY AND IT WAS NORMAL. COULD THERE BE ANOTHER CAUSE FOR THIS. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP.

Hi Valerie... This question is not about asthma and that's my special expertise, but I'll try to help since no one else has answered yet. I am a nurse and have general medical knowledge.

I'm not sure a chest x-ray would even show what's going on in your breast to cause the soreness. I doubt it's related to the cough, however. If I were you, I'd make an appointment with my gynecologist for a breast exam. You should definitely get to the bottom of this issue. Such pain is a sign that something is going on.

To your health,

Kathi
