Q: I have extensive bruising from coughing in the chest area. Is this serious? What is this?

My asthma manifest itself in a deep racking cough. Often break ribs, etc.  This season I have bruising all over the chest and stomach area.  This has never happened before and I am quite concerned.  My doctor says he has not seen this before but does not seem to be concerned after doing blood tests and everything comes back ok.  I am concerned though.  What is this and what can I do about it?

Sounds like you have a mean case of asthma.  Unfortunately we are not able to diagnose over the Internet.  If you are not satisfied with what your doctor tells you, then perhaps you may want to have your doctor refer you to another physician to get a second opinion.
