Friday, September 30, 2011 Bobbie asks

Q: I have MRSA, and I got a flu shot yesterday..and late in the evening I felt like I was running fever now today I have flu like aching..because of MRSA should I have not gotten the flu shot??

As you can see from the CDC website, MRSA is not a contraindication for getting the flu shot.  Likewise, a low grade fever and aches are normal side effects of the flow shot.

I mean flu shot, not flow shot.

I guess my question was..Does it hurt to get a flu shot if you have MRSA??  I just needed this question answered, even though I already got the flu shot and yes I have MRSA infection.
