Hi Mike,   Albuterol is a short-acting bronchodilator that is commonly used as a quick relief inhaler when asthma symptoms are not controlled by a daily inhaled steroid. However, a few small studies have also shown that albuterol may have promise in treating certain neuromuscular diseases. I would conclude that more study is needed before this becomes part of a standard treatment protocol. Still, if it is something you are interested in, then I would encourage you to talk with your doctor in greater detail about your condition, your treatment options and any questions or concerns you might have.   To your health, Kathi
