The simple answer to your question is a resounding, YES!

Contrary to popular belief, asthma is not just a childhood disease. I was diagnosed at 27yo and my mother was at 50yo. I often come into contact with individuals in the general public and clients of mine who have also been diagnosed post-childhood.

Some say that it is do to environmental factors. Others suggest it is hormonal. The truth is that we don't yet know. What we do know is that every individual has a certain level of depisposition for asthma and if the correct combination of variables are thrown into the mix, those individuals may develop asthma - at anytime in their life.

While adults diagnosed with asthma may seem to find dealing with it more difficult that children, know that asthma IS controllable. With the right diagnosis, medications, therapies, education and providers, asthma does not have to control anyone's life.

Good Luck & Breathe Easy!
