Q: Dear Gerri Rivers, AE-C, Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate your being there for me.

Another Question for you. If I have never had any symptoms until the fires in Los Angeles covered the skys with heavy smoke. I've never had an asthma attack. Where did this asthma come from?  I am researching this health problem. I'm glad that I found this great website. It will be a great help to me. My doctor told me over the phone to just take the inhaler, so I will use this site for a plan of action.

I would like more research information regarding asthma and air pollution. Could you give me some direction ?

Thank you,

Marion Melchiorre

Dear Marion:

I am glad thatyou found my initial response helpful.

Asthma is a very strange thing. Individuals who uhave never had issues before are exposed to just the right thing that causes symptoms to develop. There is truly no one best answer.

If you want to research about asthma, air quality and their relationship, try Allergy & Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics (www.breatherville.org) and US Environmnetal Protection Agency (www.epa.gov). Both have great resources.

I also want to congratulate you on wanting to get educated about asthma and its affects on you. This is definitely a key to controlling asthma.Let me know if I can help anymore!
