I have asthma since I was 18 and I'm now 23. Because of my asthma I'm not allowed to continue with my fitness routine or anything else. The doctors gave me flovent and provental but when i check my breathing on my peak flow meter its always in the yellow zone. Am I being percribed the proper medicine or is it because i'm not taking my dosages daily? I also have allergies but its not as a huge effect as my asthma and i usually take singular to treat it.

It is important that you continue working with your asthma physician to find the right concoction of asthma medicines to best control your asthma.  What medicines work best for you may be different from what works best for other asthmatics, so your doctor may need to continue "tinkering" for a while to find the perfect blend of medicines to help you. Here is a good article you can read about what medicine works best to control your asthma.

Are you taking your medicine correctly?  That is something you also need to work out with your doctor.  It is important that with any asthma medicine that you take it exactly as prescribed. Here is a good article about how to take your asthma meds and why you should take them exactly as prescribed.

You'll also want to make sure you have a good Asthma Action Plan, a good asthma doctor, and make sure you are using your peak flow meter properly
