As you know, I am not a doctor.  But, I have had Pneumonia quite severe in fact!  But to answer your question.  I don't see how they would be able to tell if you have asthma, until you've gotten rid of the Pneumonia first.  I believe my asthma was cause by the pneumonia.  But again, Not a doc.  Many years later, I was dx with Asthma.  Had some symptoms, which I ignored.  Don't ignore breathing issues.  I would ask your Doctor.  See what they say.  It never hurts to ask.  If after your illness is gone.  You don't get response from your doctor.. INSIST on a breathing test. ( That's how they test for asthma.) Or a Pulmonary Doctor which I see now once a year.   Good luck,
