That's a very good question. The medicines in Advair (Sevevent and Flovent) are preventative medicines with the sole intent on preventing asthma and COPD flair ups. If you use it as recommended (1 puff twice a day or as prescribed), it is proven effective and safe. This is the kind of medicine that you have to take EVERY DAY even when you are feeling well. If Advair works for you, then chances are you MAY need to take it rest of your life, unless a better medicine is some day invented.
