Hi Beckyred,

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you asking why chemicals may be an asthma trigger?

Many things can trigger asthma symptoms or asthma attacks. Allergies (to pollen, animal dander, mold and the like), cold air and exercise are some classic triggers.

Fragrances, odors and chemical fumes may also be asthma triggers (but these substances do not trigger allergies) because they can irritate the lining of the lungs.

I hope this helps!
