I have a really bad cough all the time?
It has been to years i had an acute asthma attack, even tho i suffer from asthma since a baby, i hadnt had much problems for teh past 15 years... since that attack i have had many regular chest infections and upper tract infections... 2 weeks im ok after taking medcs like antibiotics. but after that it all kicks in again... but my cough is always there...? This may sounf silly but i often burp with my cough, could it be acid reflux? I sweat alot when i cough too could it be Pneumonia?
Please can you help.. ive taken anything and everything fir this cough but its still there!!!
My muscles are giving up on the amout i cough, i cant even sleep at night, even with several pillows!!
Thanks
Hi Somia,
A chronic cough could definitely be a symptom of asthma, even in the absence of other symptoms. Your recurrent respiratory infections could be a sign that something is not healthy in your airways. And acid reflux is a fairly common related illness to long-term asthma. BUT... these symptoms are somewhat general and could also be associated with other illnesses.
I'm wondering if you've ever been evaluated by a pulmonologist or allergist? If not, I would highly recommend it. If you have asthma still, it doesn't sound like it is under good control. If it's something else, it should be treated. At any rate, I think a second medical opinion is in order for you. You don't have to just keep suffering!
To your health,
Kathi
