Q: I've started taking Singulair for asthma/allergies. When will I start seeing the effects?

My doctor just prescribed Singulair for what she believes is asthma related to allergies, which I've always thought of as mild.  (I'm 51 years old and otherwise healthy, with no serious asthma attacks; "just" a persistent cough, tightness in my chest, and a vague feeling that I can't take a deep enough breath sometimes.)  I've been taking the Singulair now for 4 days and would like to know how long I should expect to wait before I start seeing a significant improvement.  Thanks.

It usually takes 2-3 weeks to start receiving the desired effect.
