Chuck:

Choosing to manage asthma utilizing a variety of resources is a personal choice. There are many thoughts about utilizing Oriental Medicines or Alternative or Complimentary therapies exclusively or in conjunction with allopathic (western) medicines and therapies.

I must caution you that incorrect usage and combine usage of allopathic and other forms of therapy for asthma and other things can compromise your health. It is EXTREMELY important to verify claims, interactions and practitioner qualifications prior to the use of non-allopathic therapies alone or in combination with allopathic, evidence-based medications and therapies.

The allopathic regimens have gone through many tests and proofs to show, through evidence-based research, that they should work in a certain way and produce certain results, while minimizing negative outcomes. Other therapies haven't necessarily gone throught the same process and do not have the same safety oversights.

For anyone choosing to consider Complimentary or Alternative Therapies, they MUST be completely open and honest with health practitioners and providers regarding ALL methods and products being used. As I said before, there can be life-threatening consequences in mixing incompatible medications, treatments, herbs, and other therapies.

Good luck in your quest to find relief and please be careful, thourough and well informed in whatever you choose.
