Tuesday, October 27, 2009 celia p younger asks

Q: does anyone knows something about a drug called vildagliptina which is added to metformin

Please, send me an answer to celia.younger@gmail.com

I don't know what to do. My family dr. here refuses to send me to an endocrinologist as I was advise by a Dr. in Spain. I was on vacation there and had a problem with my sugar (went up to 300 +) and I don't know why. The dr. there changed my medication and prescribed vedagliptina+metformin. I will like to know more about this new medicine. they told me new and is good to protect the pacreas and liver. Does anyone know something?

Sorry, this has nothing to do with asthma, but i don't know any where else to ask.

Celia,

This question is probably better posed at our sister diabetes site here:

http://www.mydiabetescentral.com

I could look up the answer, but they will actually likely KNOW about this medication and be much better prepared to answer your question authoritatively.

Good luck,

Kathi
