Q: Can an asthma attack cause high blood pressure

Can an asthma attack cause blood pressure to go extremely high? My mother age 70 has had several times where her blood pressure has shot up.  Her normal blood pressure is low to normal.  She has had heart tests and they all came back normal.  I have asthma and think she has had athma for years and she is soon to get tests to confirm it.  But the doctors have put her on high blood pressure medicine which i think is a symptom of the athma since all other tests are normal.

I think you're right (IMO),  I've noticed that when I feel tight on my breathing my blood pressure is abnormal but when I'm breathing perfectly then my pressure drops back to normal levels.
