Q: When do I give my son his albuterol?

My son has mild asthma triggered mostly by viral infections.  How do I know when to give my son his albuterol inhaler? What symptoms warrant giving him the albuterol?

Here is a really nice list of some common signs of an impending asthma attack you may want to watch out for:  click here. Breathing changes, Sneezing, Moodiness, Headache, Runny/stuffy nose, Coughing, Chin or throat itches, Feeling tired, Dark ircles under eyes, Trouble sleeping, Poor tolerance for exercise, Downward trend in peak flow number.

If these symptoms do not go away with proper use of his albuterol inhaler, I would recommend calling your son's physician.
