This is a great question, and I do not have a simple answer for you.

Even though bruising is not listed as a side effect of Advair, I know a lot of people who use Advair who complain of bruising.  Yet, if this is an actual side effect, I also wonder if it could be eliminated with proper technique, i.e. rinsing after using it.  I suspect this might be true, but I don't know for certain.

It is true that inhaling Advair directly into the lungs is sppposed to eliminate systemic side effects, like bruising.  At the same time, not rinsing your mouth out after using it can cause your body to absorb a small amount of the medicine, thus causing some minor systemic effects.

I'm interested in reading what other experts might have to say about this.

you know rinsing your mouth out after using advair DOESNT work for everyone. I know Im living proof and so are countless others on another forum board!. and if you are taking advair it is still getting into your system no matter if you rinse your mouth out or not. they recommend you rinse your mouth out to prevent mouth soreness, sores, oral yeast infections, etc. which I ALWAYS rinsed my mouth out while taking it and that didnt help. Once the dr switched me to something else it stopped from occuring. what works for one person may not work for another and side effects of any medication differes from person to person
