Q: my 4 yr olds asthma attacks are barking like croup. is this typical of asthma?

my 4 yr old was diagnosed with asthma, but during attacks his cough is barking like croup

Coughing is a good sign... with asthma its not that the person can't breath air in, its that they can't breath it out... therefor the lungs stay filled with old unoxyinated air and has no room for fresh air, as they cough they force the air out, once the coughing stops and is just the wheeze noise is all you hear is when you know they are having more difficulty.
