anesthetic what impacted does it have on asthma??

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if having a anesthetic can cause asthma to become bad or worsten as I had a General anesthetic to remove my appendix in march 2009 and leading up to it my asthma was good I was on no asthma pumps or inhalors but since having it I have been put on two lots of inhalors which have not worked and They are trying me on Symbicort as a last measure before she refers me to one of the doctors as I see a asthma nurse in my local doctors surgery. She also has put me on Bricanyl instead of ventolin both of this inhalors are Turbohalors.

Any help and adviced hughly welcomed.
