Hi Justo,
Thank you for your question. There are several types of medication available for the treatment of asthma. There are inhaled steroids, oral steroids, inhaled bronchodilators, and miscellaneous oral agents. You are currently taking an oral steroid (methylprednisolone) and a miscellaneous oral agent (theophylline). If you have not tried them in the past, you may want to speak with your doctor about whether an inhaled steroid may be appropriate for you. Inhaled steroids are associated with fewer side effects than oral steroids because they only go in your airway, not throughout the whole body. However, you may be taking the oral steroids because you tried the inhaled steroids in the past and they didn't work for you. You can read more about other medications used to treat astma at this website. I hope this helps!
Best of luck,
Casey
