Asthmatic kids who have low vitamin D levels may have more breathing problems than their peers, researcher suggests. Scientists studied 100 kids and found that nearly half of them were vitamin D insufficient, and those who were had more allergies, asthma flares, and used more medications than those who had normal vitamin D levels. Researchers say the vitamin may help reverse steroid resistance in asthmatic patients, as well.
