According to Dr. Mary Pickett, an allergy to chocolate is possible, but the real culprit behind worsening asthma symptoms may be acid reflux. Chocolate--along with peppermint, alcohol, and fatty foods--are some of the main acid reflux triggers, and acid reflux can trigger asthma symptoms.
