Researchers in South Korea say just inhaling the aroma of coffee may activate anxiety-relieving genes and relieve stress. In a study of rats, the scientists found that when stressed animals inhaled the aroma of roasted coffee beans, a number of genes were activated, including some that produce proteins with healthful antioxidant activity.
