Severe asthma may be a different form of the disease

A new study suggests that people who have severe asthma may actually have a very different disease than people who suffer from mild to moderate asthma. The study--from the Severe Asthma Research Program-- found that those with severe asthma showed signs of 'air trapping' in the lungs, a condition that prevents a full exhalation. Researchers say this may explain why those with severe asthma often do not respond well to current treatments. Read more »
