Children with asthma who take magnesium supplements have less severe asthma symptoms and use less medication, a new clinical trial suggests. Children in the study who took oral magnesium experienced 28-percent fewer days of severe asthma than those who took a placebo. The children taking magnesium also reduced their use of the asthma medication albuterol by 40 percent.
