Children who take Singulair (montelukast) do not experience adverse effects on growth when compared to children treated with inhaled corticosteroids (ICS), according to a new Canadian study. Researchers compared children taking the ICS beclomethasone, Singulair, and a placebo. Children who took the ICS had a significantly decreased rate of growth, while children on Singulair and the placebo did not show any change in growth rates.
